Old Poletown fire

On the way to the Detroit Jazz Festival for an assignment I took a short detour to follow the plume of smoke billowing up from the city’s near east side. This time it lead me to an abandon house fire in Detroit’s Old Poletown. Somehow the colors and light just fit. Here are some Instagram edits of the photos from a short detour.

Halloween Arsons in Detroit

Detroit fire fighters fight a two-story vacant dwelling fire fully engulfed in flames at 5902 Ivanhoe on Detroit’s near-west side Halloween Night just after 10 p.m. Another large vacant-dwelling fire was started about an hour prior a couple blocks from Ivanhoe and Ironwood was also ruled suspicious.
